MACG Christmas Fair

The Maleny Arts and Crafts Group held their annual Christmas Fair over the weekend of 26/27/28 November.
The event was co-directed by Judy Boland and Glenys Collin with a team of hard-working volunteers - all of whom did a great job setting-up of the stalls, laying out the decorations and making sure the three days ran smoothly without any hitches.

Christmas Arts and Crafts Fair

MALENY CHRISTMAS ARTS & CRAFTS FAIR

The Maleny Arts and Crafts Group will be holding their Christmas Arts and Crafts Fair at the Maleny Community Centre in Maple Street over the weekend of 26, 27 and 28 November.

The theme this year is “A Christmas Spectacular” and the 200-plus artisans from MACG are reflecting the vibrant colours of the Blackall Ranges in the many quality hand made home-ware and gift items that will be on sale. Items include pottery, paintings, sewn items, preserves, quilting and woodwork - just in time for those early Christmas presents.

Café MACG will be serving freshly made home-style morning and afternoon teas and luncheon with freshly brewed tea and coffee all day from 10am.

The MACG Christmas raffle prize this year is 4 sets of prizes consisting of 4 small themed paintings plus a piece of pottery for each set. All artworks are recent works by member artists. The prizes are currently on display at the MACG Gallery in Maple Street and tickets are $2 each. The winning tickets will be drawn at 3pm on Sunday 28 November

Don’t miss out on this terrific showcase of quality Blackall Range-made arts and crafts. Entry to the Fair is free and doors will be open from 9am to 4pm each day.

Over the weekend of 25/26 September, 28 member artists from the MACG Fine Art Group and the MACG Clayworkers, held their 7th Annual Fine Art Exhibition at the "much-revamped" MACG Centre within the Maleny Showgrounds.
The exhibition got off to a great start with the Opening Preview Cocktail Party on the Friday night with over 80 guests sipping champers - and munching on fine-finger-food from the kitchen of Janet and Jeanette - and rubbing shoulders with the exhibiting artists.
The show was a huge success - sales wise - and attracted over 300 visitors during the weekend.

The MACG Fine Art Group meets at the MACG Centre - within the Maleny Showgrounds - on the 1st 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month - from 9am. And the MACG Clayworking Group meets at the Centre on each Thursday from 9am. Visitors and new members are most welcome.

Quilts on Show

On the weekend of Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 September, the MACG Quilting Group held their Spring Quilt Show at the Main Pavilion, Maleny Showgrounds.
With 254 quilts and textile artworks on show, this exhibition was certainly the finest and the largest that Maleny has seen, and the Group must be congratulated on putting together such a superb and exciting display of craftsmanship.
Around 700 visitors from Brisbane and the coast - as well as locals from across the Range - attended the show, dined in the MACG Cafe and made their purchases from the many merchants on hand. The beautiful raffle prize was won by Alan and Ann Wilson from Caloundra.
Already the quilters are planning the next show in 2012 !!!

The MACG Quilting Group meets at the MACG Centre within the Maleny Showgrounds every Monday from 9am ... new members are most welcome ...
