MACG Autumn Fair

Over the Labour Day May long weekend MACG put on their annual Autumn Arts and Crafts Fair at the Maleny Community Centre. The theme for this year’s event was all about Pink and Butterflies, and the various groups within MACG let their imaginations fly creating exciting wares all in brilliant colours and different styles. Thanks to the team of hard working members who set-up the displays - under the baton of President Sara Faddy - the hall looked magnificent with tables groaning under the weight of quality homewares and gift items for sale including pottery, paintings, sewn items, preserves, quilting and woodwork.

MACG also had a raffle running and the prize this year – just in time for the winter chills – was a queen sized quilt and bed accessories in bright Pizazz colours. The prize was made by members of the Quilting Group. The raffle was drawn at noon on the final day of the Fair and the winning ticket was held in the name of Diane Robinson - congratulations.

Even though the number of visitors over the weekend was down on previous years, the Fair was a huge success with shoppers obviously delighted to be purchasing locally handcrafted wares.

The next MACG event will be the Quilt Show and Fine Arts Exhibition planned for the weekend of 25/26 September.
